A professional group, Omituntun Initiative in the Diaspora (OID) has expressed heartfelt condolences to Gov.Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Olubadan-In-Council over the demise of Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun.
The group also commiserated with the Oyo State Traditional Council, the people of Ibadanland, and the entire state.
The condolences is contained in a statement issued and signed by the group’s spokesperson, Mr Ayotomiwa Adebayo and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Ibadan.
The group described the late Olubadan as an erudite scholar, a philosopher and a consummate management consultant,who has contributed immensely to the development of Ibadanland and Nigeria in general.
“His intellect, wisdom, and wise counsel brought refinement to the traditional institutions in Oyo State.
“His reign was significant in areas of socio-economic development, peaceful coexistence and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people,” the group said.
The group said that the late Olubadan’s era was notable in the history of Olubadan thrones,adding that his legacy and peaceful regin would be greatly remembered.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, the immediate family of His Imperial Majesty, Oyo State Traditional Council, the royal family, and the entire people of the state during this mourning period.
“May God comfort his family, the State Government, and the good people of Oyo State on the irreparable loss of the majestic royal father,” the group said.
