Dotun Sanusi, a prominent political figure in Oyo State, has urged his supporters to cease their campaigns for his 2027 gubernatorial ambitions.

Speaking to reporters, Sanusi emphasized the need to focus on the present rather than getting distracted by future electoral prospects. “While I am honored by the support and enthusiasm of my followers, I believe it is important that we direct our energy and resources towards the challenges facing our community today,” he stated.

The decision comes amidst growing speculation about Sanusi’s political future, with many analysts considering him a potential frontrunner for the gubernatorial race in 2027. However, Sanusi stressed the importance of maintaining a long-term, strategic approach to governance.

“Our work is far from over,” Sanusi continued. “There are critical issues that require our immediate attention, and I believe it is crucial that we remain focused on making a tangible difference in the lives of our constituents. The 2027 election is still several years away, and I do not want our current efforts to be overshadowed by premature campaigning.”

The announcement has been met with mixed reactions from Sanusi’s supporters, some of whom expressed disappointment at the sudden halt to their campaign plans. However, others praised the decision, stating that it demonstrates Sanusi’s commitment to responsible leadership and his ability to prioritize the needs of the community over his own political aspirations.
