Inflation-induced price increases in sachet water have led to the resurgence of iced water being sold in transparent white nylon bags in Ibadan.
A video captured a woman selling two nylon bags filled with chilled water for N50 in a park, attracting the curiosity of onlookers who filmed the scene with their phones.
This trend has emerged as sachet water prices continue to rise due to inflation. Just a few months ago, a bag containing twenty sachets of water was sold for N150, but now it averages N350.
The price per sachet has also increased from N10 to N50. The affordability of sachet water had halted the sale of iced water, but with the recent price hikes, it has made a comeback.
