An interest group, Ekiti Integrity Movement (EIM), has called on security agencies including the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate what it called “the alleged past crimes of a serial blackmailer Lere Olayinka” with a view to bringing him to justice.
The EIM in a joint statement in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday by its Coordinator, Yomi Asubiojo and Secretary, Tope Ajisola said “a crooked personality like Lere Olayinka lacks the moral justification to accuse somebody else of sexual misconduct which he himself was involved when his own past records are dug for the purpose of bringing him to book.”
The group was responding to a social media post shared by Olayinka on Wednesday in which he accused the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof Abayomi Sunday Fasina, of instigating the DSS arrest of one Dr Opeyemi Samuel Agbeleoba, said to be the younger brother of Mrs Folasade Adebayo, a FUOYE staff member who accused the VC of sexual harassment.
According to EIM, the allegation of sexual harassment against the FUOYE VC is still under investigation by the Governing Council in which all parties will have the opportunity of stating their own sides of the story.
The group said it was surprised that Olayinka could not concentrate on his immediate assignment as the media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory only to accuse Fasina of using the DSS to arrest Agbeleoba but engaged in a rather needless infantile battle by accusing the FUOYE boss of sexual harassment when investigation was still ongoing.
The EIM, which clarified that it was not holding brief for FUOYE VC, urged all parties in the instant case to allow statutory administrative and security bodies to perform their duties of investigating the matter and not engaged in scaremongering and undue sensationalism.
The body said Olayinka whom it described as a “notorious blackmailer and incorrigible purveyor of fake news” lacks the moral justification and standing to accuse another person of sexual harassment which he allegedly used the previous public offices he occupied to commit.
It noted that the latest accusation from Lere Olayinka was an amateurish attempt and needless pontification to preempt investigation and foist a fait accompli on the agencies that have been properly saddled with the responsibility to investigate the alleged sexual harassment.
The EIM while insisting that criminal matters have no time limit, urged security agencies to scrutinize Lere Olayinka’s past records as a staff member of the now rested THE CLASS revealing that Wike’s media aide had a case of theft of defunct newspaper’s property at a police station in Akure, where the magazine was based.
The group also urged the security agencies to launch an investigation into Olayinka’s alleged criminal fraudulent activities during his time as Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media under former Governor Ayo Fayose during which he also acted as Director General of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES).
The EIM accused Olayinka of using the privileged position to engage in unauthorized sale, criminal diversion and looting of the corporation’s property, diesel racketeering and criminal invoicing, failure to remit the corporation’s revenue into government coffers and sexually abusing some female interns and NYSC members who came to serve in the station, sexual harassment and victimization of the staff members.
Another allegation against Olayinka into which the EIM is demanding investigation is the alleged use of BSES studios to declare fake election results in the July 14, 2018 governorship election in connivance with his former boss Fayose which the group described as a “serious electoral crime.”
The statement read in part, “We were miffed that this fellow, Lere Olayinka, now turns himself to a moral policeman accusing somebody else of sexual harassment which he himself (Olayinka) used the privileged position he occupied in the past to commit.
“If anybody should accuse the FUOYE VC of committing the alleged offence, it should not be Lere Olayinka. We understand that he used his status as a government appointee under Fayose to cover up his case and fled Ekiti State for Abuja even before the October 2018 change of government because of the morbid fear of being prosecuted for his crimes by the Fayemi administration that took over from the Fayose regime.
“But we take a solace in the fact that criminal matters are not bound by time and space; they can be reopened and revisited at any convenient time in the future. Another opportunity has presented itself to security agencies to dig into Lere Olayinka’s criminal past and bring him to justice to answer for his own past misdeeds.
“It is an acceptable fact that no human being is perfect as only God is infallible but when a criminal now turns himself to a moral compass in the society, he should be reminded of his sordid past and efforts must be made to bring him to justice.
“We are drawing the attention of the nation’s security agencies to some criminal activities committed by Lere Olayinka in the past and we want to point out that this same fellow who has turned himself to a holier-than-thou individual has several criminal cases hanging on his neck which we will bring to to the attention of the public.
“Some of the alleged crimes committed by Lere Olayinka include theft, burglary,
libel, blackmail, examination misconduct, multiple and mind-boggling
fraud, embezzlement of public funds, peddling falsehood, churning out
hate speeches and involvement sex scandals and extramarital affairs.
“Lere Olayinka during his tenure as illegal head of BSES was also involved in messy sex scandals including sleeping with corpers and students on industrial
attachment (SIWES) to BSES and even contract staff.
“A particular case for reference was that of a lady, the late Miss Funmi Oba, who was on SIWES to BSES and served in News and Current Affairs Department. Lere Olayinka should be asked questions on what was responsible for the death of the Ikere-born girl.
“Lere Olayinka, using his connection with the government in power then, snatched the lady from her former boyfriend whom he threatened to hands off the girl for him to have her to himself.
“Before coming to BSES on SIWES, the late Funmi Oba worked part-time as
a flower bearer/dancer for an undertaker/funeral home after which Lere Olayinka browbeat her into an unholy relationship.
“Lere Olayinka, in a bid to keep the girl to himself, got an accommodation for her in Adebayo area of Ado Ekiti where he used to engage in endless sex romps with her using his position to intimidate the hapless girl.
“In the process of the amorous relationship, the girl got pregnant
several times but Lere Olayinka procured abortions for her to prevent the secret from leaking to his wife who is a gospel musician.
“It was a period that Lere Olayinka, who is supposedly a married man, impregnated many of those innocent girls and even procured abortions for them! The sexual escapade of Lere Olayinka with another lady, Adeola Adeyemi Adams, is an open secret at BSES and it is a story for another day.”
The EIM further delved into the alleged criminal past of the FCT Minister’s media aide on his alleged serial crimes in its bid to establish the fact that his claim, if any, about the FUOYE VC or any other person for that matter, should not be believed because he lacks the moral standing to level such allegations.
The statement continues: “Lere Olayinka used to be a cobbler in Lagos where he stole his brother-in-law’s money and also confessed to sitting for an examination for his wife at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos.
“Lere Olayinka’s claim to being a journalist is bogus and non-existent
as he has no certificate or academic qualification to back such claim because he was a dropout at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos
where he failed to complete a diploma course and any certificate he is
parading to back such claim is fake as such can only be procured from
Oluwole, a Lagos Island neighbourbood notorious for producing fake
documents.
“Lere Olayinka fled from Lagos only to land in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, where he committed some crimes while working with Mr. Tunde Alade, the publisher of the now rested CLASS Newspaper and a lawyer and human rights activist, Mr. Morakinyo Ogele including using his position to blackmail innocent people to extort money from them.
“During this period, Lere Olayinka stole a printing plate that the production crew wanted to use to produce copies of CLASS Newspaper in a bid to corner all the proceeds from that production to the chagrin of Alade and Ogele.
“It is also on record that Lere Olayinka during his Akure misadventure broke into the law chambers of Ogele located on Oyemekun Road, Akure and stole N250,000, a fact that is in public domain and verifiable by anyone who wishes to investigate same.
“An impersonation case hanging on Lere Olayinka’s neck was his villainous bravado of posing as an elected lawmaker in the hallowed chamber of Ekiti State House of Assembly in November 2014 during the screening and ratification of nominees for the positions of commissioners and special advisers in the early days of the second
tenure of Ayo Fayose.
“The Fourth Assembly at the time Fayose came back to power in October 2014 had 19 APC lawmakers while PDP had 7 lawmakers in a 26-member House
which needed a quorum of 9 members to hold any valid sitting.
“The 19 APC members had been run out of town after their 6 PDP counterparts loyal to Fayose illegally impeached Dr. Adewale Omirin as Speaker and replaced him with Mr. Dele Olugbemi on November 20, 2014.
“To conduct a sitting to screen and ratify Fayose’s nominees, at least nine members would be needed to form a quorum but on the day of plenary, Lere Olayinka and three other mystery individuals joined the six PDP lawmakers to perform the constitutional act.
“Assembly staff, party loyalists, civil servants, journalists and other members of the public in the gallery, were stunned when Lere Olayinka and three others who were not elected to sit in the hallowed chambers joined the PDP lawmakers to screen and ratify nominees. It is now up to security agencies to reopen the case file and dig deep.
“A case of criminal forgery and doctoring of a witness statement on oath is also hanging ominously on the neck of this vile fellow named Lere Olayinka and this can be investigated by the appropriate security agencies.
“In the murder case of the former state Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Chief Omolafe Aderiye, Lere Olayinka criminally tampered with a witness statement on oath of Mr. Gbolahan Okeowo.
“Okeowo, who served as the Personal Assistant to the late Aderiye while
giving evidence before an Ekiti State High Court presided over by Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, averred that Lere Olayinka tore his (Okeowo’s) witness statement on oath and wrote another one in the chambers of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice at the State Secretariat, Ado Ekiti.
“Okeowo testified in open court that Lere Olayinka committed the crime because he felt the witness statement on oath did not incriminate and implicate the accused persons. The evidence is available at Ekiti State High Court for interesting members of the public for
confirmation.
“In the earlier statement on oath the witness (Okeowo) deposed to which
was allegedly torn by Lere Olayinka, Okeowo’s averments exonerated the seven transport workers who are APC members implicated by the Fayose regime of complicity in the Aderiye murder.
“Lere Olayinka personally changed Okeowo’s statement on oath and wrote
another one to implicate the accused persons of having hands in the murder of Omolafe Aderiye. What can be criminal more than that?
“The accused persons in the case are Adebayo Aderiye (a.k.a. Ojugo), Adeniyi Adedipe (a.k.a. Apase), Sola Durodola, Ajayi Kayode, Sola Adenijo (a.k.a. Solar), Oso Farotimi (a.k.a. Oso Polo) and Rotimi Olanbiwonnu (a.k.a. Mentilo).
“Okeowo, in his testimony, told the court that he was pricked by his conscience and had to depose to another affidavit at the Federal High Court, Akure to contain the original averment in the first statement on oath torn by Olayinka.
“The court had on January 28, 2018, discharged and acquitted all the
seven persons who were found innocent of the murder charge for which
they stood trial for almost four years while being incarcerated in the
Federal Correctional Centre, Ado Ekiti.
“If a former PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, could be prosecuted for destroying the statement he wrote in EFCC custody, Lere Olayinka should not be allowed by security agencies to be walking free
on the streets for destroying a witness statement on oath intended to be used in the law court for evidence.
“Also awaiting investigation by security agencies is Lere Olayinka’s
complicity in allowing the use of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti
State which he supervised for three years and nine months for illegal
and criminal declaration of the 2018 governorship result by his boss,
Ayodele Fayose when collation was yet to be concluded by INEC.
“The treasonable action led to the closure of the station by the National Broadcasting Commission for violation of broadcast code. The usurpation of INEC’s duty by Olayinka in cahoots with his boss who awarded victory to their party heightened tension in the state.
“It is on record that Lere Olayinka used his position in BSES to commit
serial crimes including carrying fake news, broadcasting hate speeches,
twisting reporters’ stories, embezzlement of millions of Naira,
collecting huge cash for seminars not attended, awarding contracts
which were not executed, committing diesel fraud, collecting
advertisement money from various ministries which were not remitted to
the accounts of BSES.
“Security agencies must launch a probe into how Lere Olayinka fraudulently and criminally converted a brand new 18-seater bus given to BSES under a barter arrangement with Chief Akintunde Ayeni popularly known as YEMKEM.
“The deal was sealed between YEMKEM International and BSES for the
corporation to be promoting the company with news, special reports,
advertisements and documentaries in a relationship that was symbiotic.
“Before one knew what was happening, Olayinka hijacked the bus and took
it to his Lagos home for his wife’s use only to replace a brand new
bus with a problematic second-hand one nobody knew where he brought it
from and which had not served the corporation well.
“Lere Olayinka acquired egregious notoriety for assisting his boss (Fayose) in ferrying aristos, prostitutes and indecent campus girls to the Government House where he, his boss and some political office holders at the time engaged themselves in wild sexual revelry, drinking binge and use of hard drugs.
“During the period, Lere Olayinka and his deposed political superiors would first entertain themselves with watching some of the ladies of easy virtue dancing nakedly in nocturnal parties before taking them to chalets and the Ayoba Villa to ravage them sexually like wild beasts.
“It was unfortunate that the Government House during the period was
turned into a brothel in celebration of a transient power that was thankfully taken away from them at the 14th July, 2018 governorship election.
“In a bid to please his political slave drivers and extort money from
them, Lere Olayinka has written and spread fake news against eminent
Nigerians with whom he does not share political beliefs and there are
few examples to show for this.
“In the lead-up to the 2015 presidential election, Lere and his boss, Fayose, colluded to produce a fake news claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari was on life support machine at a hospital in London.
“They had earlier used Ekiti funds to produce a death wish adverts in
some national newspapers against Buhari suggesting that the President
would die in office before the end of his tenure when they are not
God, the giver and taker of life. That amounted to playing God.
They claimed to have eleven pictures of the President on a life support machine in the London hospital which they promised to share to Nigerians but the story was later found to be fake and they couldn’t produce the said pictures.
“Political differences should be used to advance positive causes and not to destroy the name, image and reputation built over the years by somebody most especially without any credible evidence.
“Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, was a victim of
Lere Olayinka’s fake news several times but this felon (Lere Olayinka) has been emboldened by Fayemi’s large heart and magnanimity to commit more misdemeanours.
“Sometime in 2008, Lere Olayinka posted a fake news that one man committed suicide inside Fayemi’s compound in his native Isan Ekiti, a news that generated anxiety back then before the general public discovered that it was fake.
“Lere Olayinka alleged in his post that the so-called mystery man hanged himself on a tree inside Fayemi’s country home even when there was no single tree inside the compound!
“Lere Olayinka went to town during Fayemi’s first tenure with the fake
news that the former governor owned a university in the Republic of Ghana
which he alleged was built with Ekiti funds.
“As Lere Olayinka was spreading the news with rabid hatred for Fayemi,
he failed to produce a single picture of the imaginary university which does not exist in Ghana or anywhere for that matter.
“A university is a huge project nobody can hide in this era of digital technology and failing to back your allegation with evidence is criminal when the name and reputation of the victim is at stake. The
university only exists in Lere Olayinka’s warped and satanic imagination.
“Another bullshit from Lere Olayinka’s mill of lies is a news he wrote
claiming that Fayemi’s convoy killed a man in front of a popular eatery at the base of the Fajuyi Flyover.
“Although the man who was identified as a police officer was killed by an underage driver who was later arrested, the incident happened when Fayemi was at Akure Airport awaiting the arrival of former Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo who was due in the state for the flag off grand rally for the APC
campaign for the 2018 governorship election in June of that year.
“Lere Olayinka’s fake news was debunked by the Ekiti State Police Command which clarified that Fayemi’s convoy did not pass through the scene of the incident throughout the day in question.
“The personality of Lere Olayinka is so perverse that you become his enemy if you don’t belong to the same political camp with him even if you had been his benefactor in the past.
“Examples are former Governor Segun Oni and Senator Adedayo Adeyeye who
had been benefactors to Lere Olayinka in the past but he called them unprintable names in various Facebook posts and press statements after they had parted ways.
“It is only lack of integrity and character that will make somebody like Lere Olayinka go to his vomit to receive an appointment from Fayose whom he had called a murderer, a trickster, a fraudster,
“impeached former governor” and other derogatory names in the past.
“Let it be known that Lere Olayinka is not qualified to be the first person to cast the first stone against any perceived sinner when he himself is a worst sinner that will burn endlessly in hell if he fails
to make a U-turn from a journey to perdition.”
“We want to advise those who have been scandalized and demonized by Lere Olayinka’s fake news to use all legal means to seek redress and stop this monster from causing further damage with his infamous sophistry.
“All these alleged past crimes of Lere Olayinka need to be investigated by security agencies to establish his culpability and the job has been made easier with references and many of the individuals involved are still alive and the concerned institutions are still available with the needed evidence to bring him to justice.”
