Eniola Ajao’s debut film, “Ajakaju” – Beasts of Two Worlds, made a remarkable achievement by earning a staggering 16 million naira on its first day of release. FilmOne Entertainment, on March 30, 2024, shared this groundbreaking news on their verified Instagram page.

“Ajakaju,” which is a cinematic masterpiece directed by Eniola Ajao, was released nationwide on March 29th, 2024, following a significant buzz on various online platforms and Eniola Ajao receiving the Best Dressed Female award.

Eniola Ajao, a renowned actress in the Nollywood industry, created history with her very first film, “Ajakaju” – Beasts of Two Worlds, as it generated an unprecedented 16 million naira at the box office on its opening day. FilmOne Entertainment took to their official Instagram page to announce this monumental accomplishment on March 30, 2024. It is essential to note that the movie “Ajakaju,” produced by Eniola Ajao, was released across the country on Friday, March 29th, 2024, after being widely discussed online due to Bobrisky receiving the Best Dressed Female award during the movie premiere on Sunday, March 24th. Bobrisky was also awarded a prize of one million naira, which sparked some controversy among individuals like Dayo Amusa and Portable, who voiced their dissatisfaction. Femi Adebayo also faced criticism for endorsing Bobrisky as the winner.

The situation escalated to the point where Portable and Bobrisky engaged in a social media feud, prompting Eniola Ajao to step in. Eniola stated that Bobrisky was given the Best Dressed Female award as a deliberate strategy to promote the film, emphasizing that it was a planned move. She humbly sought forgiveness from Nigerians, confessing that she had invested over 200 million naira in the movie, having even sold her cars, land, and houses to finance it.

In an emotional video, Eniola Ajao demonstrated a change of heart as she announced new winners for the Best Dressed Female category, each of whom would be rewarded with one million naira.

Addressing Bobrisky, she tendered her sincere apologies for putting him in a difficult position. Eniola clarified that the decision to award Bobrisky was never intended to cause harm or controversy but rather as a misguided attempt to generate publicity for the movie. She expressed genuine remorse for any distress this may have caused him. In a bid to make amends and rectify her mistakes, she decided to recognize Papaya Ex and Iyabo Ojo as the deserving Best Dressed Females at the premiere, presenting them each with a sum of one million naira as a gesture of apology and appreciation for their elegance and grace.

On Instagram, FilmOne Entertainment confirmed that “Ajakaju” had earned 16 million naira at the box office within 24 hours of its release. Nevertheless, the film “Ajakaju” currently holds the title for the highest opening day earnings among releases in 2024. Esteemed actor Odunlade Adekola responded to this achievement by suggesting that the definition of success should be changed to “FilmOne.” He thanked Nigeria for their overwhelming support and encouraged everyone to watch the movie as it continues to be screened in cinemas nationwide.
