Influential elites from Esanland have overwhelmingly endorsed Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the gubernatorial candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the upcoming election in Edo State.

In a virtual meeting recently, the assembly also analyzed the candidacy of Senator Monday Okpebholo from the All Progressives Congress (APC), ultimately rallying behind Dr. Ighodalo as their preferred choice.

Dr. Ighodalo’s campaign manifesto resonated profoundly with the attendees, who lauded his commitment to revitalizing Esanland. His key proposals include improving educational infrastructure to ensure quality education for future generations, implementing innovative technologies to enhance security, and promoting economically beneficial projects such as technologically-driven agriculture and better water access.

Among his pledges are promises to create ample job opportunities—exceeding the current workforce—offering hope to the youth, and bringing inclusive governance through tourism development and leveraging natural resources.

The meeting participants also urged Senator Okpebholo to consider peacefully stepping aside and returning to his legislative duties, emphasizing the importance of unity and shared heritage.

To reinforce their call for harmony, a campaign is in the works to send one million letters to Senator Okpebholo from Esans around the globe, appealing for a collaborative resolution via email, WhatsApp, and social media.

Dr. Okoruwa Okojie, the Coordinating Director of the Esan4Esan Global Support League, expressed eagerness to lead members in celebrating Dr. Ighodalo’s journey toward the governorship.

With a shared vision for a prosperous future, the leaders of Esanland are mobilizing to support Dr. Ighodalo’s candidacy amid calls for unity and cooperation.
