Contrary to the lingering and alleged malicious stories in the last few days both in print and electronic media, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has confirmed the authenticity of certificate of Muheeba Dankaka, the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission.

Ahmadu Bello University Registrar on January 16. 2024 clarified that the certificate issued to Dankaka is genuine.

The public speculation that Dankaka was also invited by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has also been confirmed as false.

It will be recalled that there was a petition against Dankaka revolving around the varying names on her educational certificates.

It was however gathered that the different names listed on Muheeba Dankaka’s certificates are all variations of her true identity. Report says her father’s name, Salawu, is sometimes pronounced or written as Salau while her given name, Muibat, may also be written as Muiba or Muheeba.

The report also noted that her middle name, Adenike, can sometimes be shortened to Nike, averring that variations in spelling and pronunciation are not uncommon and do not cast doubt on the authenticity of her credentials.

The report also noted that after marriage, it is customary for women to adopt their husband’s family name. Hence, Dankaka is Muheeba’s married name, which further explains the variations in her identification.
