He expressed his sadness and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the explosion. He also praised the swift response of the state government and emergency agencies in addressing the situation and providing relief to affected individuals and communities.

Olowofela, who is a native of Ibadan, emphasized the need for unity and cooperation in moments like these. He urged the people of Oyo State to come together and support the government in its efforts to rebuild and rehabilitate the affected areas.

The explosion, which occurred in Bodija area of Ibadan, has caused significant damage to surrounding buildings and properties. Several people were injured, while some lost their lives in the tragic incident.

Also, Olowofela advised government, organizations and concerned persons on how to forestall possible future environmental hazards as a result of the explosion.

He said: “from Geophysical perspective the shaking experience at UCH, Oyo-State Ministry of Education some part of Ologuneru is certainly what is referred to as induced seismicity in which some rock fractures must have taken place. This tremor would be around 3 on Ritcher Scale. Seismic activities have been experienced in 1984 around some part of Ibadan and Ijebu Ode. It may be high time University of Ibadan set up the Seismic Station.

“This seismic events occur naturally and can be induced by explosives, the likes of what happened recently.

“I implored a representative of Geological Department of University of Ibadan and Geophysicist from the Department of Physics of the University to be included in the Committee investigating the primary and secondary causative issues of the crisis.

“We pray that, we shall not experience such a dastardly event again  Oyo-State again”, he stated.
