A Federal lawmaker, Dr Remi Oseni, has taken a step towards improving infrastructure and supporting farmers in his constituency, Ibarapa-East/Ido Federal Constituency in Oyo State. Dr Oseni, who represents the All Progressives Congress (APC), presented construction equipment valued at N120 million for the rehabilitation of roads in his constituency. The equipment includes a bulldozer and a road grader.

During the inauguration ceremony held on Monday, Dr Oseni emphasized the significance of these equipment in providing better access for farmers to transport their produce to major markets in the constituency. He mentioned that the lack of good roads at the grassroots level has been a major challenge for farmers, resulting in the spoilage of their produce before reaching the market.

As the Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Dr Oseni revealed that approximately 80 roads within the constituency have been identified for construction in the first phase using the newly-acquired equipment. He urged community leaders and citizens to collaborate with the government to ensure contractors deliver quality road projects, and encouraged them to report any contractors not doing a good job to the nearest FERMA office.

Expressing his excitement, Dr Oseni thanked God for making the dream of improving road infrastructure in Ibarapa-East/Ido a reality. He assured the constituents that President Bola Tinubu is committed to fulfilling his promises regarding youth empowerment, road infrastructure, healthcare, education, and security.

In addition to the road construction equipment, Dr Oseni revealed that rice palliatives were distributed during the inauguration ceremony. These palliatives are part of the Federal Government’s initiative to address food challenges in the country. Each lawmaker was given approximately N100 million worth of palliatives, and the distribution contracts have already been awarded and initiated.

With these efforts, Dr Oseni aims to make a positive impact on the lives of the people in his constituency, particularly farmers, by providing improved infrastructure and addressing food challenges.
