Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has hit back at those accusing her of arresting a troll’s mother. The controversy began when an X user claimed that Abraham had his mother arrested, calling her “shameless” for the alleged act and urging her to send more police to arrest everyone.
In her response, Abraham stated that while the user could abuse her and call her names, she draws the line when people curse her children and lie about her. She clarified that she never arrested the user’s mother and only made a report of cybercrime as a concerned citizen.
The Twitter user further alleged that the movie star had picked up his mother from her shop at the Panti police station, to which Abraham replied that he was lying and proceeded to explain the situation.
Taking to her Instagram Live, Abraham stressed that she never arrested anybody’s mother and was only exercising her democratic right. She stated that the only reason people are bullying her is because she supported another person and never collected money from him. The actress revealed that she has been receiving threatening messages since then.
Toyin Abraham declared that she is ready to die, but before her death, she will ensure that everyone who bullied and defamed her will not go unpunished.
Weeks earlier, it was reported that Abraham had arrested a Twitter user who wished death on her son for cyberbullying and defamation. According to a source close to the Twitter user, the police had arrested him four days ago for cyberbullying the actress.
Recall that during and after the election, Toyin Abraham had openly declared her support for Tinubu’s administration, which led to heavy backlash. In an interview, the mother of one cried out over the intense trolling, stating that she had never experienced such bullying before in her life. Abraham added that many went as far as petitioning her brands and urging Netflix to take down her movies due to her political stance.
