The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is charged with the responsibility of conducting free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria. However, following some presidential results announced by the Commission, some party agents at the collation centre reportedly alleged that the official results released are different from what was announced at their different polling units.

In this light, the Spiritual Director of IRNI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has called out the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, not to subject to pressure to rig the election. According to him, this is a reminder that even God is against rigging. The man of God said this via a video on his official social media handle.

According to Primate Ayodele: “The BVAS is the answer to prevent rigging. Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC Chairman, if you submit to pressure, the election will be rigged. If it happens, even Heaven will not be happy because God hates such. Stand firm to resist our enemies. You must be very strict”.
