In a recent Instagram live session, Nigerian gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori has revealed that she has been receiving alarming death threats on social media over the past six months.
The ‘Oniduro’ hitmaker, known for her popular songs like ‘Arojinle’ and ‘Aye Ope Yo’, did not name any specific individuals, but she warned that those wishing for her death are “counting the days of death for him or herself.”
“If you wish me death, you are calling for fatal death. If you think what I deserve is to die, you also want to die,” Alaseyori said during the live session.
The singer, who is married to Dave Akinyemi with two children, stressed that her “destiny will not die” and that the “angel of death will go after” anyone who gathers to wish for her demise, “even if they are prophets.”
Alaseyori, whose stage name is derived from her first album ‘Alaseyori Mi’ released in 2012, expressed her shock at the “wicked” and “painful” nature of the online attacks she has faced.
“A whole lot of things are going on behind the scenes,” she said, urging those sending her death threats to refrain from contacting her or speaking about her with evil intentions.
The gospel artist’s emotional statements come after the recent passing of fellow Nigerian singer Aduke ‘Gold’ Ajayi, who was reported to have died of cervical cancer.
