Nigerian woman Pelumi Nubi, who embarked on a solo drive from London to Lagos, has been gifted a brand new car by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The heartwarming moment took place at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border, where Pelumi was warmly received by officials from the Lagos State Government, including Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka and Special Adviser, Idris Aregbe.

During the celebration, Pelumi was also appointed as the Lagos Brand Ambassador. The 28-year-old content creator received a customized car with the plate number ‘Nubi’ as a token of appreciation. The presentation of the car, which was captured in a viral video, showed the emotional moment Pelumi was overcome with joy.

Additionally, Pelumi generously donated her old vehicle, the one she used for her remarkable journey from London to Lagos, to the Brand New J Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, as a monumental gift to the city of Lagos. Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Jubril Gawat, shared the news on social media, expressing his gratitude and excitement for Pelumi’s accomplishments.
