In a shocking turn of events, a herbalist in Nigeria has been accused of impregnating his female customers who sought his services. The incident has sparked a paternity dispute between the herbalist and the husband of one of the affected women.
The incident occurred in Malaka Village, under the Owode-Obafemi Local Government Area of Ogun State. The devastated husband, Sikiru Olaleye, a 42-year-old native of Igbehin, is not only concerned about his wife’s infidelity but is also at odds with the herbalist, Lamidi Ifaloba, over the paternity of the child.
Olaleye recounted his ordeal, stating that he was shocked to discover that the baby he believed to be his was actually fathered by the herbalist who lives nearby. “I had only ever seen something like this in a movie,” he declared.
Olaleye explained that his wife, Shadiat, had gone to Iwo, Osun State, her hometown, after a disagreement. Despite his efforts to convince her parents to accept them back, Shadiat refused to return to their home. Olaleye was then surprised when neighbors began mocking him, revealing that his son was related to the herbalist in the nearby village of Malaka.
Further investigation revealed that Shadiat had been a customer of the herbalist, Lamidi Ifaloba, for about six years, seeking fertility remedies. Unaware of the alleged illicit activities, Olaleye even took the baby to the herbalist three days after his wife gave birth, seeking spiritual advice on the child’s future, a practice known as “akosejaye” in Yoruba culture.
The shocking allegations have left the community in disbelief, as the herbalist is now accused of exploiting his female customers and betraying the trust of the community. The paternity dispute has also added to the family’s turmoil, leaving Olaleye grappling with the emotional and legal implications of the situation.
