A prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Oyo State, Hon. Kazeem Ademola Alimi, has congratulated Hon. Folajinmi Sunday Oyekunle, popularly known as Don Deal, on his resounding victory in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Alimi, who also served as the Campaign Coordinator for Ward 3, described Oyekunle’s success as a well-deserved triumph, noting that the wide margin of over 10,000 votes reflects his credibility, grassroots connection, and capacity to serve the people.
In a statement, Alimi emphasized that the outcome of the poll was also a direct endorsement of the transformational leadership of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde. He stated that the electorate had rewarded the governor’s outstanding performance by massively supporting the PDP at the polls.

“The victory of Hon. Folajinmi Sunday Oyekunle is not just personal; it is a collective victory for the PDP family and for good governance. The 12–0 result clearly shows that the opposition has no footing in Ibadan North, and this momentum will only get stronger as we approach 2027,” Alimi said.
The Ward 3 leader further expressed pride in his constituency for delivering the highest number of votes during the election, reinforcing their reputation as a stronghold of the PDP.
Alimi extended appreciation to Governor Makinde and Otunba Seye Famojuro for their steadfast support and strategic leadership, which he credited as vital to the party’s victory. He prayed that God grants Oyekunle the wisdom and strength to effectively discharge his duties in the House of Representatives.
