The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has disclosed how God punished a group of billionaires who demanded detailed monthly accounts of how their tithes were being spent by the ministry.

According to Pastor Adeboye, four wealthy members from one of the RCCG branches had written to him, asking for a full financial breakdown of their tithe contributions. Adeboye said he agreed to their request and even went a step further, preparing a detailed monthly report that would be kept on the table during the Holy Ghost Service for any interested member to review.

However, the pastor revealed that he also instructed the church treasurer to keep the tithes from this particular group of billionaires separate from the rest, wanting to see if God could still run the church without their financial contributions.

“It was when Aboaba came from Ibadan, I sent him there and then after he had been in the church for some months, he came to me. He said the people you asked me to go and join are complaining that things are not going well, and they have found out that they offended me, and that’s why their contracts are being cancelled and all manner of things are happening,” Adeboye said.

The pastor explained that he did not know anything about the misfortunes befalling the disgruntled billionaires, stating that he had simply wanted to test God’s ability to provide for the church without their financial contributions.

“It was a handful of people who thought that they were cleverer than God and they brought problems to everybody. It will interest you to know that every one of those involved in that group is no longer in the church and they are not where they ought to be, let me just put it like that,” Adeboye concluded.
