In a shocking turn of events, a 28-year-old lady named Julius Wuraola denies knowing that her boyfriend, Temitope Oke, was involved in criminal activities, specifically car theft. Both Wuraola and Oke, along with other suspects, were apprehended by the Osun State Police Command for their alleged involvement in a car snatching syndicate.
During the parade at the Police Headquarters in Osogbo, Wuraola claimed that she had no knowledge of Oke’s criminal activities. According to her, they had been dating for five months and Oke had told her that he was an engineer. She stated, “I didn’t know he was a thief. The day we were apprehended, he told me we were traveling. I didn’t know the cars were stolen.”
However, Oke contradicted Wuraola’s statement and claimed that she was fully aware of their criminal activities. He admitted that they had snatched four cars in Osun and were transporting them to Kogi State when they were arrested. Oke stated, “All of them, including Wura, knew what we were doing. We were arrested while taking the cars to Kogi State.”
Aside from this car theft syndicate, the Osun State Police Command also apprehended other suspected armed robbers and alleged members of the EIye confraternity. Various exhibits, such as cars, phones, cables, and motorcycles, were recovered.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hope Okafor, addressed the media during the parade and assured that all criminals would be charged to court following the completion of the investigation. She commended the residents of Osun for their active role in reporting threats to peace and urged them to continue upholding law and order in the state.
Also, the Police Command called on the public, whose properties were among the recovered exhibits, to come to the Police Headquarters with necessary documents to prove ownership.
