Founder of the One Love Family and the Living Perfect Master, Satguru Maharaj Ji, in this revealing interview, opens up on his spiritual connection with former Nigerian military president, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), and other powerful figures. He speaks on promises made and broken, divine interventions, assassination attempts, and his spiritual influence in Nigeria’s corridors of power. Excerpts:
—
Can you clarify the rumour that you had a close relationship with former military President, Ibrahim Babangida (IBB)?
Yes, IBB was as close to me as any person who needed or needs my divine backing.
—
Did you back IBB in all he did during his time as Nigeria’s leader?
What did IBB really do to Nigeria? He militarized the entire country, murdered many, looted the economy, sold Nigeria out to the World Bank and IMF, and tore apart the nation’s moral fabric after years of colonial damage. No! I did not back him for all those atrocities.
—
So, what was the nature of your support to IBB?
I expected him to include his relationship with me in his recently launched book. But of course, the serpentine chameleon in him didn’t allow that. IBB came to me seeking protection. I gave him terms and conditions. I fulfilled my side — that’s why he wasn’t overthrown or killed while in office. Ask him if he kept his end of the bargain, the promise to lead Nigeria progressively.
—
Would you say IBB betrayed your trust?
You could say that. But more importantly, he betrayed himself and qualified for karmic consequences due to his abominable actions.
—
What kind of karmic consequences are we talking about?
IBB and his fellow elites know who Maharaj Ji is. If the masses don’t know, the powerbrokers who seek spiritual power worldwide know. No one betrays the Light and goes free. IBB should be asked about his role in the deaths of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia and Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso. Lamidi Adedibu, who IBB hired to assassinate me, is now paying heavily in another dimension.
—
Why didn’t you stop IBB once he broke his promise?
An emotional being might have, but I operate beyond emotion. Balance is crucial. The system needed balance, so I ensured IBB was eased out in 1993 without jeopardizing Nigeria’s unity. I selected someone outside the political scene to succeed him — a man I had given Divine Knowledge — but he rejected the offer after being manipulated in London. Sadly, he’s late now.
—
Who was that person?
Abel Ubeku, the former Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria.
—
How did you protect IBB spiritually?
I gave him special shoes, rings, and necklaces for protection. Ask him — if he can still tell the truth, he may admit it. After Abel Ubeku declined the offer, Ernest Shonekan was picked by the IBB group to serve as interim president.
—
Wouldn’t this kind of revelation discourage other high-profile Nigerians from seeking your help?
Not at all. Secrecy is key in spiritual matters, and I uphold that. IBB’s case is different — he stripped himself of secrecy. Many top Nigerians regularly visit or call me. No one knows them, and I’ll never reveal them. I only speak on IBB because he attempted to destroy me and continues to pose a danger to Nigeria’s destiny.
—
Why this focus on IBB?
Because he came to me for help, received it, but then plotted to assassinate me through Lamidi Adedibu. Adedibu is dead today as a result of that plot. IBB must not be allowed to sneak back into national reckoning.
—
Are you saying Adedibu died because of his role in the assassination attempt?
Yes. There’s a lot hidden underground. Our leaders have committed unspeakable atrocities against this nation.
—
What about Abacha — how was your relationship with him?
Abacha, despite his flaws, was a man of his word. He respected my spiritual authority far more than IBB ever did.
—
You earlier mentioned King Fahd and Sankara. What was IBB’s role in their deaths?
IBB is alive. He should confess. Nigerian elites, particularly the Anglo-Fulani alliance, use spiritual attacks on Southern elites. When they failed to break my spirit in Sokoto, they took the battle to Saudi Arabia. That’s where King Fahd encountered me spiritually and was shocked. The Saudis confirmed I am the long-awaited Imam Mahdi and advised Nigeria to embrace me. When King Fahd sought to visit me for healing, IBB blocked the visa request. King Fahd later died.
—
And Sankara?
Sankara confronted IBB over his massive foreign bank accounts and urged him to invest in Africa. That challenge cost him his life. IBB colluded with the French in Sankara’s assassination.
—
Tell us about the June 11, 2008 attack on Maharaj Ji Village. Why weren’t the soldiers apprehended?
We knew who was behind it — Lamidi Adedibu. I focused on him. I decreed he would die exactly a year later, and he did.
