The Conference of Ibadan Executives of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oyo State Chapter, has unanimously endorsed Comrade Ayobami Olusegun Adeogun, FCPA, for a second term as State President.
This endorsement was announced in a statement signed by Mr. Sola Olalere, Media Coordinator for Comrade Adeogun’s second-term campaign, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to the statement, the decision to support Comrade Adeogun’s re-election is a reflection of his exemplary leadership, commendable performance, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of local government workers across the state. His tenure, the statement noted, has brought significant progress in workers’ rights advocacy, capacity development, and institutional reforms within the union.
The conference also extended its heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Seyi Makinde, for his consistent support and responsiveness to the needs and aspirations of local government workers. The union commended the governor’s grassroots engagement, which they believe has led to a more dynamic and effective local government system.
The statement highlighted Governor Makinde’s achievements in road infrastructure across the state, noting improved connectivity between key zones:
The Moniya-Iseyin Road has linked Ibadan to the Oke-Ogun zone.
The Oyo-Iseyin Road connects Oyo to Oke-Ogun.
The Ogbomoso-Fapote-Iseyin Road is linking Ogbomoso to Oke-Ogun.
The Ido-Eruwa Road connects Ibadan to the Ibarapa zone.
The union called on political stakeholders at home and in the diaspora to maintain their unwavering support for Governor Makinde in delivering the dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
“With this bold declaration, the Ibadan NULGE Executives reaffirm their trust in continuity, stability, and visionary leadership for a greater future of Oyo NULGE,” the statement concluded. “We stand by Comrade Adeogun because he is delivering results, and we have absolute confidence in his leadership and administrative acumen.”
Also speaking on the endorsement, Mr. Laide Olanrewaju, a NULGE leader from Egbeda Local Government, said, “We have all agreed to renew the mandate of Comrade Ayobami Olusegun Adeogun for a second term. It’s a unanimous decision. He prioritizes our welfare, and this is our way of appreciating his dedication.”
