The Initiative for Ibarapa Electricity has thanked the Minister of Power, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, and Rural Electrification Agency MD, Alhaji Abba Aliyu, for supporting electricity restoration in Ibarapa land.

This is contained in a statement signed by its Convener, Chief Akinyemi Akinlabi and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan.

The initiative for ibarapa electricity members include all traditional rulers in ibarapa land and notable community leaders.

Akinlabi, a former Ibarapa Central Local Government Chairman, was the Coordinator of the Grassroots Engagement and Mobilization Sub-committee of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Ibarapa land.

He commended Adelabu and Aliyu for awarding contracts aimed at restoring electricity across the three local government areas in Ibarapa land.

Akinlabi described the development as a significant step toward fulfilling the electoral promises made to the people of Ibarapa.

Akinlabi said that during the campaign period, assurances were given on behalf of the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address critical infrastructure challenges in the region.

He emphasised that the contract award demonstrated the federal government’s commitment to improving the lives of Ibarapa residents.

Akinlabi said that the milestone underscored the administration’s dedication to inclusive development and equitable distribution of infrastructure.

He urged the contractors handling the project to mobilise to the sites without delay as well as ensure timely completion of the project in a quality and enduring way.

This, he said, would extend the federal government’s good works to the area as well as strengthen the trust between government and the people of Ibarapa land.

The restoration of electricity, according to the statement, is expected to rejuvenate economic activities in Ibarapa land, improve social welfare, and create conducive environment for small and medium-scale enterprises to thrive.

Akinlabi appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate with the contractors to ensure the project’s success.

He reaffirmed his commitment to monitoring the progress of the project and collaborating with relevant authorities to ensure people of Ibarapa land enjoy uninterrupted power supply as promised.
