In a significant display of Ibadan’s rich cultural heritage, IBILE G7, a prominent group of Ibadan indigenes, has congratulated Oba AbdulRasidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja on his acceptance and wearing of the lineage crown bestowed by the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin Ige-Olakulehin I.
The investiture, which took place at Oba Ladoja’s new palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, on Monday, has elevated the status of traditional chiefs in the ancient city, adding a touch of modern royalty to the office of High Chiefs.
IBILE G7 praised the event as a significant step in promoting the lineage positioning and preparing the next in line for the coveted throne, stating that the renewed investiture has brought the position of these traditional chiefs into the limelight, attracting people from all walks of life.

“The installation of Ladoja as the new lineage beaded crown-head has significantly elevates the investiture of traditional Chiefs into class of modern royalty to add glamour to the office of High Chiefs in the ancient city, while the lineage positioning gets the next in line prepared for the new task as the next in rank to coveted throne. Adding, the renewed/elevated investiture of the lineage has upped the stake in the promotion rites from obscurity into limelight to attract people from all walks of life
“Being the first official outing of Oba Olakunlehin since his ascension to the coveted and revered throne of Ibadanland, the investiture of Ladoja to the lineage of the beadedcrown Chiefs now confirmed Ibadanland as the enviable numero uno_as citadel of tradition aside been the established political headquarters of Yorubas worldwide.
“Oba Owolabi Olakunlehim who also regale himself not as only custodian of culture but as a royal father with the incisive precision of what traditional norms entails displayed the aura of tradition at the event a complete departure from the former.
