•As Adelabu visits Igangan, promises support for victims of attack

Following the attack on Igangan community by members of Motor Park Managers System (PMS) on Tuesday last week, another victim of the attack had been reportedly dead.

The Regent of Igangan who is also the Agoro of Iganganland, High Chief Kolawole Salaudeen made this known during visit of Accord Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu on Sunday why paying a condolence visit to Igangan to sympathize with victims of the attack.

According to Salaudeen, the victim succumbed to his injury in the early hours of Sunday which further thrown the community into deep mourning.

Salaudeen commended Adelabu for identifying with the community over the sad incident that occured during Governor Seyi Makinde’s re election campaign to the community last week.

“If not because of Chief Adelabu’s approach, the town had decided not to welcome any political party to the town to avoid a repeat of what happened during Gov Makinde’s campaign because the town will never forget the unfortunate incident caused by the governor and his so called “hard guys”, the Regent said.

High Chief Salaudeen who spoke on behalf of Igangan community wished Adelabu well in his bid to become the next governor of Oyo state.

•Adelabu while addressing Igangan people

Adelabu while addressing people in the community, expressed worry over the attack that claimed lives and left several members of the community injured in the clash between heavily armed members of AlhajI Lamidi Mukaila-led Parks Management System ( PMS) who were on the Governor’s entourage and Resident of the Igangan Community.

“ We cannot continue to put the lives of our people in danger in the course of electioneering campaign. Our ambition is not worth the lives of any of our people. That is why we have continued to conduct our campaign in a peaceful manner”, Adelabu said.

Reiterating his resolve to protect lives and property of the citizenry of Oyo State, the Accord Governorship candidate said security of lives and property will continue to be given adequate priority through effective collaboration with relevant security stakeholders.

” The essence of my visit to Igangan is not for campaign but to sympathize with the people affected by the attack. Attacking people of Igangan during Governor Seyi Makinde campaign is totally condemnable”.
He therefore called on the Igangan community, Ibarapa North local government and People of Ibarapa land, “to shine their eyes very well and vote wisely to dislodge bad governance in Oyo state “

” I sympathize with people of Igangan over the unfortunate incident that claimed lives. I am also promising to provide necessary support to the family of those who lost their lives including other vvictims who sustained injuries and are still receiving care in the hospital. If, God’s willing, we take over the mantle of leadership, Our administrstion will not condone or give support to anyone that we know is capable of causing trouble in any any nook and cranny of the state”, Adelabu said

‘’ As former chairman of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund during the late Senator Ajimobi administration, I want to assure the people of Iganganland that our own administration shall also give genuine attention to the security of lives and property, to prevent both internal and external aggression of any kind and in all 33 local Government of Oyo state .

The Accord Candidate also assured the people of Igangan and Oyo State of his robust plan to empower them as Governor adding that he would not be deterred in his determination to see a better Oyo State with the safety of all citizens assured.
