The owner of the building and explosives responsible for the devastating explosion in Ibadan, Alhaji Sawane Youssouf, has released a statement denying his involvement.

According Newscoven.com, Youssouf, a Malian miner, stated that he neither owned nor rented the building in question and had no connection to the explosives that caused the explosion.

He also emphasized that his mining activities in Oyo State were legal and in accordance with Nigerian law. Youssouf called on the Oyo State government, security agencies, and other authorities to continue investigating the incident and identify the real owners of the building and explosives. He expressed condolences for the lives lost and the destruction caused by the explosion.
