Traditional worshippers in Oyo State have expressed their unwavering support for Governor Seyi Makinde.
They commended him for approving August 20 as Isese Day in the state. During a visit to the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, the worshippers promised to promote peaceful co-existence and religious harmony in the state.
The Commissioner also praised Governor Makinde for his inclusivity in approving the Isese Day holiday and thanked the state House of Assembly for passing the enabling law. He urged the worshippers to unite and contribute to the state’s development.
The commissioner also highlighted the upcoming Sango Festival, which has gained UNESCO recognition and will attract attendees from around the world. The Aare Isese of Oyo State, Aare Omikunmi Egbelade, assured the government of their collaboration and pledged to strive for a progressive alliance among traditional worshippers.
Isese zonal representatives also pledged their commitment to unifying traditional adherents and ensuring peace and progress in the state. Prayers were offered for the governor, government, and people of Oyo State.
