According to reports from Israel’s Channel 12, the country’s air force, composed of US-manufactured fighter jets, is gearing up for a counteroffensive against the rogue Islamic state. The retaliation, which does not have a specific date or timeline yet, aims to send a strong message that Israel “will not allow an attack of that magnitude against it to pass without a reaction.”
Despite ignoring US President Joe Biden’s plea for restraint, Israeli leaders maintain that they are not seeking to escalate the conflict. Biden and other allies have urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to refrain from retaliating against Iran’s assault. Israeli officials have vowed to respond to the attack but have not provided details regarding their plans.
Israeli military chief Lt. Gen Herzi Halevi has reaffirmed Israel’s stance, assuring that Iran’s aggression “will be met with a response.” However, he did not disclose any further information concerning the nature of the response or its timing.
