The due process, according to them is to present Alhaja Saratu Konibaje, who was elected as the Iyaloja-General of Oyo State in an election supervised by Oyo state government officials to the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for ratification.

The elders resolved in following due process to put an end to the crisis in a special meeting of stakeholders in Ibadanland on the issue of Iyaloja-General of Oyo state between Alhaja Saratu Konibaje and Alhaja Nurudeen Abeo.

In their remarks, the duo of Chief Bayo Oyero and Daud Akinola posited that most information they were getting at the meeting was new to them contrary to what they have been hearing about the matter.

Akinola on his part said governor Makinde may not have been properly briefed on the correct perspective of the situation, and that may be responsible for the delay in confirming the right choice, insisted that except he is properly brief about the crisis, he may not be able to take decisive step on it.

He however said a proper step will be taken in notifying the Governor, saying the matter of due process that was initially followed which produced Alhaja Saratu Konibaje would be presented to the governor.

Oyero in his remark lamented that combination of due process and politics was actually responsible for the crisis, adding that the crisis wouldn’t have occured if due process was encouraged. He however concluded that since the due process has been followed, monitored by the relevant State Government officials and Alhaja Sarata Aduke Konibaje has emerged, he has no objection to the position.

Also, Engr. Dotun Sanusi, Alhaji Y K Abass and Mogaji Abass Oloko maintained that the market structure, due process and arrangements of everything give the nod for Konibaje as the Iyaloja-General of Oyo State.

On the geopolitical zonal arraignment and spread of Iyaloja and Babaloja General of Oyo state, one of the Leaders of market council in Oyo state, Mogaji Adeniyi explained in details on the current structure, he stated that the Leadership of various blocs has been well represented by the various geopolitical zones in Oyo state.

Meanwhile, Alhaja Iyadunni of Food Canteen Workers Union and the former head of all leader of all market groups recognised by state Government maintained that Alhaja Saratu Konibaje remain the Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, while all the required due process were followed before she emerged

She said various issues were on ground before arriving at going for election which the state government presided over, saying Konibaje have seven Bloc supportimg her while Abeo have just only two.

This position was equally substantiated by the Babaloja of Oyo State, Alhaji Y.K Abass who added that the election was closely monitored by the officials of four different ministries including the Ministry of Justice, Information, Women Affairs and Commerce.

The then Commissioner of Commerce was Chief Bayo Lawal who coordinated the report to be sent for Governor ascent before he was moved to another ministry, this create rooms for various political interference.
