The body of Nollywood makeup artist, Ms. Abigail Edith Frederick, who tragically died in a boat accident while returning from a movie location on Anam River in Anambra State, has been exhumed.

Her body was exhumed today, April 14, and will be taken to her home state, Akwa Ibom, for burial. The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, expressed his condolences to the family and ordered the exhumation of her body for a proper burial.

Abigail lost her life along with three other crew members, including popular actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, last Wednesday. Initially, her remains were buried at the bank of Anam River due to financial constraints faced by her parents.

However, the Akwa Ibom State government was not aware of this situation and ordered her body to be exhumed and transported to her home state for a proper burial.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Eno stated that Abigail, a 24-year-old graduate of Theatre Arts, was a shining example of young people following their passion.

The government of Akwa Ibom State extends its sympathies to her family, the Nollywood community, and her friends and colleagues. Governor Eno has ensured that the bereaved family will receive the support they need during this difficult time.
