The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has been accused of slapping a man in public after he recorded her. A video of the incident, shared by Sahara Reporters, has sparked widespread reactions.
In the footage, the commissioner is seen instructing Neighborhood Security guards at a public facility to clear the area. However, the man recording the scene is heard opposing her directive, insisting no one should leave.
When the commissioner ordered a security guard to escort the man out, the guard hesitated after the man resisted. Frustrated, Benson-Awoyinka questioned the guard, asking who was responsible for paying his salary.
The situation escalated when the commissioner approached the man and threatened to smash his phone. While attempting to seize the device, it appeared she slapped him.
The man, visibly upset, expressed his displeasure, asking why she slapped him and warning her not to repeat such behavior.
The video has since drawn public attention, with viewers debating the appropriateness of her actions.
