A lady has narrated her ordeal in the hands of her landlord after she was ‘forced’ to leave an apartment she rented in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to her, “I rented an apartment on the January 22, 2022, and last month, I went to my landlord to renew my rent and he told me that he wants me out of the compound – without giving me a quit notice.
Fast forward to January 23, 2023, he came to lock my door with my belongings inside when I wasn’t in the compound. My elder brother intervened and he told him we were to leave the property on January 30. So, he came yesterday with an artisan and instructed him to pull down my door and window. Is this right? cause he claims to be a lawyer. However, there was no prior agreement that I won’t be able to renew my rent and I just discovered that he had rented out the apartment to someone else while I was still there.
