Shyngle Wigwe, the father of the late billionaire businessman Dr. Herbert Wigwe, collapsed on Saturday and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. This update comes after rumors circulated on social media claiming that the elder Wigwe had passed away. Influencer Tony Ogbuagu clarified the situation, urging people to refrain from spreading false news.

The funeral service for Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife Doreen, and their son Chizzy took place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. Earlier this month, SaharaReporters had reported that the family tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in the United States. They were laid to rest on March 9, 2024, following a combined funeral service at the Lion of Judah Parish of the RCCG in Isiokpo.

The helicopter crash occurred near the border of Nevada and California in February while the Wigwes were en route to Las Vegas to attend Super Bowl 58, an American football competition. Dr. Herbert Wigwe had departed from Lagos, Nigeria, on Wednesday to witness the event, which took place on February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
