Stakeholders within the Ona Ara Local Government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday berated the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi over the raging controversy on the Chairmanship candidate of the party ahead of forthcoming council election.

Fadeyi, the leaders in the stakeholders group said has continued to allege prominent leaders of the PDP in the area of collecting N5million from a leading member of the National Association of Proprietors of Private School Owners (Oyo State chapter), Dr. Temitope Kolapo.

Kolapo who is now the favorite of the leaders and stakeholders in the council for the Chairmanship position, is seen as the best candidate to lift the fortunes of Ona Ara Local Government beyond its current position and status.

Kolapo, the owner of Glorious Private Schools, the source said is a level headed, highly educated and respectable gentleman reputed for a number of community development projects in the area. These factors made stakeholders to consider his aspiration as a man who would help to support the State Government under His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde in making Ona Ara Local Government primus inter pares amongst the comity of other councils in the State.

A PDP elder who preferred anonymity in a chat with reporters on Monday evening described Fadeyi “as a mischief maker who is out to destroy the party and drag the names of the elders in the mud because of his inordinate ambition to make one of his protégés a Chairmanship candidate.

“Fadeyi in his unguided utterances is saying the likes of Hon Olayemi Busari; Baba Adurodekun; Hon. Mufutau Ogunyemi and Mr. Bakare collected a sum of N5million from Dr. Temitope Kolapo.

“Unfortunately for him, records have shown that his case is like that of a pot calling kettle black. According to available information, Fadeyi has on several occasions collected monies from this same Dr. Temitope Kolapo.

“You can also see several transactions from Dr Temitope Kolapo to the Deputy Speaker as far back as year 2022. Records showed that he demanded for financial supports from Dr Kolapo in 27th April, 2022; 9th December, 2022, and so on. On all these occasions was obliged and adequately catered for by this gentleman.

“He is guilty of what he is accusing others of doing. Stakeholders are concerned that the lawmaker is exposing himself to public ridicule.

“We will help him to strip himself naked if that’s what he wants the public to know about his insatiable desire for demanding financial requests from people who ought to be supported for extending goodies to our local government,” the source warned.
