Makinde Approves Appointment of Olakuleyin as 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakuleyin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The governor’s approval, issued on June 14, 2024, was made in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 19 (Cap 28) of the Oyo State Law 2000, as amended.

According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Honourable Olusegun Olayiwola, the appointment is the culmination of a series of processes stipulated by the extant laws of the state regarding ascension to royal thrones.

The statement emphasized that the governor’s approval is a testament to his commitment to preserving the traditional leadership structure and ensuring a smooth transition of power in the Ibadan traditional institution.
