The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has officially approved the coronation and presentation of the staff of office to the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin.

According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 12, 2024.

The Commissioner emphasized that this decision demonstrates the administration’s commitment to upholding justice and fairness. He urged the people of Oyo State and Ibadan in particular to look forward to the grand spectacle of the coronation and presentation of the staff of office on the appointed date.

In a related development, the Commissioner also addressed the recent elevation of Dotun Sanusi from Mogaji to the Olubadan Chieftaincy line, describing it as a well-deserved recognition.

The Commissioner stated, “Our people must learn to be patient and believe in an Administration that has not let them down in the past 5 years. Insinuations and mischievous innuendos have not derailed Governor Seyi Makinde from the path of justice and fairness.”
