The Chief Executive Officer of Pams Travels & Tours Limited, Mrs. Olanike Mustapha, has commended Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing him as an intentional leader who is passionate about delivering beauty, development, and comfort to the people of the state.
Speaking in an interview with The People’s Verdict, Mustapha, who also doubles as the Coordinator of the Women in Tourism Business (Oyo State Chapter), expressed deep admiration for the governor’s vision, especially in the areas of infrastructure, economic growth, and tourism development.
“I need to commend our GSM, Governor Seyi Makinde, for the great work he has started doing in Oyo State, because the work is ongoing,” she said. Citing her personal experience as a resident of Apete, Mustapha highlighted how the reconstruction of a previously dilapidated bridge transformed daily life for residents. “Now, Apete people are happy because the road is motorable. We can use the road, we can sleep, we can rest.”
According to her, Makinde’s administration is not just fixing roads but delivering sustainable infrastructure that improves lives across the state. “We can see massive works that are sustainable… not just patching roads.”
She particularly praised the positive impact of improved road networks on both urban and rural communities, noting that farmers can now transport produce to markets more easily, thereby enhancing economic activity.
In her tourism-based assessment, Mustapha emphasized that night life has blossomed in Ibadan under Makinde’s leadership. “We have people going to clubs, selling at night… with proper lighting on Ring Road, Bodija, and other areas. That’s adding value and boosting revenue.”
The tourism entrepreneur further observed a visible economic turnaround in the state. “The economy has greatly improved. People working in Lagos are now building houses in Ibadan. They come here to rest, shop, and spend — it all boosts our local economy.”
She identified road infrastructure as the governor’s most outstanding achievement. “Two of our vehicles got damaged before on that bad road. Today, the roads are good. You see a governor with intentionality who appreciates beautiful things — not just for himself, but for the people.”
Mustapha also lauded Governor Makinde’s policy reforms in the tourism sector. “Before, we had Information, Culture, and Tourism under one ministry. But he separated Tourism and Culture and appointed a vibrant commissioner. Now we have summits, festivals, and a working strategy for tourism growth.”
She revealed that the upgrading of the Ibadan airport to international standards is already in progress, positioning Oyo State as a hub for both local and international travel and commerce.
“With the governor’s structured five-zone tourism plan and ongoing airport upgrades, investors are encouraged to come in. This is a good soil to sow — you’ll get your return on investment,” she assured.
In conclusion, Mustapha described Governor Makinde as a sound, exposed, and people-loving leader. “He listens. He serves with the whole of his being. God bless Seyi Makinde for us.”
