The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, for allegedly transporting human organs from Edo State to a native doctor, reportedly for ritual purposes.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, officers from the Odo-Noforija Division apprehended the suspect on April 25, 2025, in the Odomola community of Epe. The arrest followed a tip-off from concerned members of the public who reported Oghenebreme’s suspicious movements.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect was conveying the organs to be used for money-making rituals,” the statement said. The recovered human parts have since been deposited at the General Hospital in Epe for preservation.
The case has been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the swift response of the officers and the alertness of the local community. He stressed the importance of public cooperation and timely reporting in tackling crime, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any unusual activities to the police.
“The Command remains fully dedicated to safeguarding lives and property throughout Lagos State,” he assured.
