Born into the respected Owoade-Agunloye royal family of Oyo, Prince Akeem Owoade is the descendant of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade of the Agure Compound in Oyo town. His upbringing and accomplishments reflect a blend of tradition and modernity, making him uniquely qualified for the role of Alaafin.
Prince Owoade’s educational achievements underscore his dedication to excellence. After completing his secondary education at Baptist High School, Saki, in 1992, he pursued Mechanical Engineering, earning a National Diploma from The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and a Higher National Diploma from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. His thirst for knowledge led him to the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sunderland and Northumbria University, respectively. Additionally, he earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2015.
His professional career is equally remarkable, spanning leadership roles in engineering and project management. He has worked as a Planning Engineer at Oil Reach Company in Glasgow, UK, and currently serves as a Project Coordinator at Manitoba Hydro in Canada.
