Professor Adeniyi Olowofela, a Federal Character Commissioner and former Chairman of Ido Local Government in Oyo State has paid homage to the late Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleoso, a prominent figure in Oyo State politics and a beloved community leader.

Chief Koleoso, who served as the Secretary to the Oyo State Government and held the title of Babalaje of Saki, has left an indelible mark on the political landscape and the hearts of many in the region.

Professor Olowofela described Chief Koleoso as a “progressive to the core,” a sentiment that resonates deeply with those who knew him.

According to Olowofela, his contributions to the political history of Oyo State established him as an ‘Iroko,’ a towering figure whose presence and influence shaped the fortunes of many. “From his tenure as the National Chairman of the defunct Alliance for Democracy to his local governance efforts, Chief Koleoso epitomized the values of dedication, integrity, and progressive ideals.

“His legacy extends beyond politics. A philanthropist par excellence, Chief Koleoso dedicated much of his life to serving his community, championing causes that uplifted the lives of countless individuals. Whether through education initiatives, healthcare projects, or community development programs, his impact was profound and far-reaching”.

Professor Olowofela noted that “his good impact shall not be forgotten,” a reason for the positive change that Chief Koleoso fostered in Saki and beyond.

He added: “Chief Koleoso’s legacy is a tapestry woven with threads of dedication, service, and love for his people, and it will continue to inspire future generations”.

Professor Olowofela extended his deepest condolences to the people of Saki and all of Oyo State, recognizing the immense loss felt by the people of the state and the wider political landscape. “Rest on, Babalaje,” he concluded, an acknowledgment of the honor and respect Chief Koleoso garnered throughout his life.

“In this moment of grief, we celebrate the life of a remarkable leader, mentor, and friend. Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleoso may have departed from this earthly realm, but his spirit and commitment to progress will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched. Oyo State has undeniably lost a pillar of its history, but his legacy will continue to guide and inspire future leaders in the pursuit of a more equitable and prosperous society”, Olowofela mourned.
