In a recent interview with Channels TV, Abdul Mumuni Abiola, the son of the late Nigerian politician Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, has shed light on the scale of his father’s family.

According to Abdul Mumuni, his father had married 40 wives and was supporting the education of 103 children during his lifetime. However, after DNA testing, it was revealed that only 55 of those children were actually MKO Abiola’s biological offspring.

“The Abiola family, we are not that much, we are only 55 out of 40 wives, according to the will,” Abdul Mumuni stated. He explained that while many of the wives had one or two children with his father, not all of them were his biological children.

In his own words, Abdul Mumuni Abiola mentioned that;

“The Abiola family, we are not that much, we are only 55 out of 40 wives, according to the will. Most of the wives had one or two kids for my dad but not all of them. So when my father was alive, he was paying for 103 children to go to school, but after the blood tests, we happened to be 55.”
