Nigerian actress and film producer Regina Daniels-Nwoko has been honored with The Sun Newspaper’s Nollywood Personality of the Year award.
The prestigious recognition was bestowed on her during The Sun Publishing Limited’s 22nd award ceremony, held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Expo Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. She was among 36 distinguished Nigerians celebrated at the event, co-chaired by APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bianca Ojukwu.
Amid rumors of a marital rift, Regina’s husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, took to Instagram to express his pride and admiration for her achievement. His public congratulatory message comes in the wake of speculation that he allegedly impregnated actress Chika Ike, a senior colleague of Regina. Reports also claim Regina briefly deactivated her Instagram account, later reactivating it after removing her husband’s name. Adding to the controversy, a viral video showed Regina’s mother warning Nwoko to ensure nothing happens to her daughter.
Despite the swirling rumors, Senator Nwoko celebrated his wife’s success, highlighting her hard work and influence in Nollywood.
