The Nigerian football team, the Super Eagles, recently suffered a loss in the finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 to Ivory Coast. This defeat comes as no surprise to prophet Primate Ayodele, who had warned of the team’s shortcomings and potential failure before the tournament even began.

Primate Ayodele, known for his accurate prophecies in various aspects of life, had been actively involved in supporting the Super Eagles throughout the tournament. During his birthday celebration in February 2023, he prophesied that the team would perform excellently in the AFCON competition, almost a year ahead of the event.

Leading up to the tournament, Primate Ayodele specifically warned against fielding Uzoho as the main goalkeeper for the team, predicting that they would crash out if he played. His advice to the coach not to use Uzoho seemed to have been heeded, as Nwabali was chosen as the first-choice goalkeeper and contributed to the team’s progress in the tournament.

Primate Ayodele continued to provide guidance and advice to the Super Eagles, stating that they would reach the final if they did early preparation and showed seriousness in their matches. He also emphasized that Nigeria had the potential to lift the cup if they did all that was necessary.

In October 2023, Primate Ayodele further prophesied that Nigeria would go far in the tournament but would lose the cup by chance. He described this chance as unfortunate and slim, attributing it to the team’s inability to coordinate themselves effectively. Despite having all the required qualities to win the cup, their complacency and tactical failures ultimately led to their defeat.

Primate Ayodele’s prophecies about the Super Eagles’ performance in the AFCON 2023 tournament have once again come to pass. The team reached the final but missed the chance to lift the cup due to their lack of seriousness and tactical shortcomings. The tournament was indeed within their grasp, but they failed to do what was necessary to secure victory.
