Nigerian Breweries, one of the leading beer manufacturing companies in Nigeria, has announced an increase in the prices of its beer brands. The price increase is said to be due to the rising costs of inputs.

Nigerian Breweries is known for its wide range of popular beer brands, including Star lager beer, Gulder lager beer, Legend Extra Stout, Heineken lager beer, Climax, Goldberg lager, Life Continental lager, Ace Passion, Star Lite and Star Radler, 33 Export lager beer, Williams dark ale, Turbo Kings dark ale, More lager beer, Star Radler Red Fruits, and Desperados, a premium beer brand with a unique tequila flavor.

In a notification letter addressed to all direct customers in the West Zone, Nigerian Breweries informed them that the prices of some of its SKUs (stock keeping units) will be reviewed starting from Monday, 19th February 2024.

According to the content of the letter, the price review is deemed necessary to address the ongoing increase in input costs and mitigate its impact. The company expressed gratitude for the partnership and commitment of its customers and assured that all open orders that are fully funded and created in the system before 00:00hrs on Monday, 19th February 2024, will be delivered at the current prices. However, the statement added that any order exceeding the communicated quantity will be re-invoiced at the new price.

Nigerian Breweries emphasized its ongoing support for its customers’ sales and distribution efforts and encouraged them to reach out to their Regional Business Manager for further clarifications.

The price increase announcement by Nigerian Breweries reflects the challenges faced by companies in the beverage industry in Nigeria, who are grappling with rising costs of production and inputs. Consumers may expect slight increases in the prices of their favorite beer brands as a result.
