The son of a sitting Nigerian governor has been arrested and detained in India for his alleged involvement in a nightclub murder. The incident occurred in a nightclub where a fight, reportedly over a woman, escalated into violence.
According to investigative journalist Pidom Nigeria on Twitter, the governor’s son is said to have used a bottle as a weapon, leading to the death of an individual. The accused is currently in detention in India.

The governor, believed to be Professor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State, has reportedly made efforts to leverage his influence and diplomatic channels to resolve the matter, but all attempts have been unsuccessful so far.
Even the offer of a huge financial settlement, running into billions of naira, to the victim’s family has been rejected, Pidom Nigeria reported.
Netizens have revealed the identity of the governor whose son was arrested. PIDOM Nigeria claimed that the culprit is related to the governor of Borno state, Professor Zulum.
According to PIDOM, the murder was basically about a dispute over a woman in the nightclub. “The son of Borno state governor Professor Zulum, has murdered someone in far away India, and he is currently been detained. His father has gone there to use his influence and diplomatic means to settle the case, but no way. He has offered to pay the family of the deceased billions, but no way,” the report stated.
The development has sparked outrage, with many calling for a thorough investigation and justice to be served, regardless of the accused’s political connections.
