The newly appointed Chairman, Caretaker Management Committee of Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, Hon. Lawan Gana, died on Thursday.

According to reports, Gana died at Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, after a brief illness.

This is coming as all the 17 LG Chairmen Caretaker Management Committees will be sworn-in on Friday by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Between 2023 and 2007, the deceased was elected as member Yobe State House of Assembly representing Karasuwa local government on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

He was also a PDP deputy gubernatorial candidate in 2015, but defected to APC in 2019.
