Hon. Olayinka Segelu, a Nigerian politician based in Germany, also expressed sadness at the passing of Oba Balogun. He mentioned that the late monarch will be remembered for his commitment to the welfare and prosperity of the Ibadan people. Segelu noted that Oba Balogun’s reign brought peace, unity, and progress to the community, and he commended his efforts in fostering a harmonious relationship with different ethnic and religious groups in Ibadanland.
