The Olubadan-designate, His Royal Majesty Oba (Senator) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has issued a stern warning to all traditional rulers in Ibadanland to shun land grabbing, disputes, and any conduct that could tarnish the image of the Olubadan, the Advisory Council, or Ibadanland as a whole.
Speaking through the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Amidu Salawudeen Ajibade, during a meeting with royal fathers at the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan, Oba Ladoja emphasized the need for traditional rulers to uphold the dignity and integrity of their offices.
He declared that any royal father found aiding or abetting land grabbing or engaging in any criminal act would face severe consequences.
“You must understand that wherever you are, you represent the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Advisory Council, and Ibadanland at large. Therefore, you must monitor the Mogajis and Baales under your authority and ensure they do not bring shame to our heritage,” Oba Ladoja warned.
He also called on sons, daughters, and residents of Ibadanland to continue to pray for peace, unity, and the continued progress and development of the ancient city.
Earlier, the Alakinyele of Akinyele, Oba (Dr.) James Oluyemi Odeniran, who led the delegation of traditional rulers, stated that their visit was to pay condolences on the passing of the late Oba Olakulehin and to pledge their loyalty to the incoming Olubadan.
Among those present at the meeting were Oba (Sir) Kolawole Adegbola, the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez, the Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland; as well as several other royal fathers, Mogajis, and Baales.
