Oluseye Ojo, a correspondent with The Sun Newspapers, has emerged as a winner at the just-concluded 2024 Nigeria Media Merit Award (NMMA) held in Lagos.

The award ceremony took place on the night of Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Shell Banquet Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Ojo clinched the prestigious Notore Chemical Prize for Environment Reporter of the Year in the Environment Category with his investigative story titled “Perilous Water”. The report shed light on the contamination of the Osun-Osogbo Grove caused by the activities of gold miners, highlighting the grave public health risks posed, particularly to individuals who rely on the water for drinking and spiritual purposes.
