The Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti, Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye, has expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the University of Technology and Environmental Sciences in the town.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the monarch also appreciated the National Assembly and the Minister of Education for their contributions in making the university a reality. He described the development as a historic milestone for Iyin-Ekiti.
Oba Ajakaiye particularly commended Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, an indigene of the town, for his role in facilitating the institution’s establishment. He assured that Iyin-Ekiti is fully prepared to support the takeoff of the university and pledged the community’s cooperation with the federal government.
“Iyin-Ekiti has always been a peaceful and welcoming community, and we are ready to provide a conducive environment for the university to thrive,” the monarch stated.
The newly established university is expected to enhance educational opportunities and contribute to the socioeconomic growth of the town and the state at large.
