The Ondo State Government has commended Westfield Global Construction Ltd for the quality and pace of work on the state’s ultra-modern Judiciary Complex in Akure, set to be named after the late Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.
On Tuesday, an unscheduled inspection team led by the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye, alongside the ministry’s Permanent Secretary and other top officials, visited the site to assess progress. The delegation expressed satisfaction, noting the absence of structural failures and confirming that all integrity and cube tests had been successfully conducted.
“I must say that I am impressed with the quality of work being delivered for our State,” Olawoye told reporters. He added that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was pleased with the regular on-site supervision by consultants and ministry officials. The Commissioner urged the contractor to accelerate the pace of work by engaging more hands, stressing the Governor’s desire to inaugurate the facility promptly to enhance the dispensation of justice and the welfare of judicial officers.
Olawoye further charged the Westfield team—led by Engr. Raheem Opeyemi and including Bldr. Olanipekun O.A., QS Abdulmalik Bello, Arc. Lukman Lawal, Bldr. Quyum Bakare, Arc. Taiwo Adeniyi Jelil, and Surv. Quadri Omidiji—to redouble efforts towards timely completion.
It will be recalled that on May 24, 2025, Governor Aiyedatiwa had similarly praised the project, describing it as a symbol of Westfield’s commitment to quality infrastructure delivery. At the time, he noted, “From what I have seen today, the work is going very fast with high quality, and this is an indication that the project will be completed as planned.”
The state-of-the-art complex will house a ceremonial court, modular courts, a registry, a library, exhibition buildings, a utility building, and expansive parking facilities. According to the Governor, the project will provide a conducive environment for judicial activities, helping to speed up justice delivery in the state.
Westfield Global Construction founder, Abdulwasiu Adebisi, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his support, stating, “I appreciate Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, which has enabled us to work efficiently and effectively. We assure the government that we will continue to work diligently to deliver the project on schedule.”
The consistent commendation from the Ondo State Government has further strengthened Westfield’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading construction firms, known for delivering on time without compromising quality.
