A housewife in the sleepy town of Akungba, Akoko southwest local government area, has allegedly killed her husband over a dispute about infidelity.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday night. The deceased, Seidu Jamiu, and his wife Omolara Oluwakemi, had an altercation the night of the incident over the husband’s alleged side chick.

Witnesses state that people were surprised when Omolara called for help late at night. Upon rushing to their home, they found the gory sight of Seidu lying unconscious in a pool of his own blood.

One witness, Chief Awesu, said he was among those who saw the unconscious Seidu and noted that the couple had a disagreement over the husband’s infidelity.

Seidu was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival. His wife Omolara has been detained by the police and transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation.

Sympathizers revealed that Seidu had recently bought a car for his wife Omolara.

Ondo Police spokesman, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, stated that it was Omolara who reported the incident at the police station on Sunday morning, claiming that some people killed her husband in the midnight. She said no arrest has been made yet, and the investigation is still ongoing.

“I can’t confirm that the victim’s wife killed him because it was the woman that reported the matter at the police station. We have not made any arrest now but investigation has commenced into the incident,” Odunlami-Omisanya said.
