A Nigerian man has caused a stir online after allegedly purchasing fuel worth ₦58,548 from a filling station in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and fleeing without paying.
The incident, widely shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), detailed how the suspect filled his tank, leaving the elderly fuel attendant distraught and in debt.
Details of the Incident
According to CCTV footage shared online, the man, driving a Honda Accord (popularly called “End of Discussion”) with plate number GGE576DY, opened the station’s gate wider during the transaction to enable his escape.
The viral post stated:
“A customer came to fill up his tank and zoomed off without paying. He stole 59.20 liters (₦58,548.4). The old man who sold the fuel is now in tears and in debt since the incident occurred on January 3, 2025. We have CCTV footage of the entire event.”
